Wyatt, Mia and I got back on Jan. 02 from Nicaragua. Brady came back home on Dec. 28th. We had a great time. The weather was perfect and visiting with family is great fun.
Thank you all - Abuelita, Abuelito, Tia, Tio, Dia, and Leo for the great memories. Charlie, thank you for lending Mia your toys/books. Here are some pictures from our trip. It was Mia’s first trip out of the country. She travels well and knew she was in a new place; it took her awhile to adjust. Mia and Charlie were baptized on December 21. Brady and I are proud Godparents of Charlie and Tura & Carlos are Mia’s Godparents. The day went by with great success thanks to Tura’s / Tuey’s planning. Thanks again.
We celebrated Christmas again on Jan. 03, at home Mia got Plush Bowling Set, a lawn mower so she can play in the yard, and a 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Baby from Santa. Mia’s baby name is Aisha Mandy and she was born on Aug. 28. Wow, just like Mama’s Birthday, how did Santa know? She also received gifts from family – Thank you all!
This is a year full of Thanks.

Now for the Mia Update.
She had a doctor’s appt on Monday. Mia weighs – she finally reached the 50 percentile in weight – 16 pds. 8 oz. Yeah! Height she is 27 ¾ inches – 75 percentile. She sings somewhat Linda Manita well she moves her hand and goes Daa, moves her wrist and goes Daa. She loves to eat just about anything. She is better coordinated at pulling herself up and balancing. She can stand on her own but no steps yet.
She is very observant and is aware of her surroundings. Just to give you an idea, here is what happened at Daycare on Thursday, Jan. 8th. Vernisha, one of the infant caregivers was eating Cheese Doodles / Slim Jim still wrapped, She went to attend to one of the infants and left it on top of the table where she was sitting, as Vernisha approached the table, she realized that the Cheese Doodles and Slim Jim were gone. She asked Ms. Betty, did you see my snacks? and Ms. Betty said No. She walked over to the four infants on the floor and scanned over them but there was no evidence of her snacks. As she looked closer, she realized that Mia was not facing her and went to turn her around. Mia was full of Orange Powder. She had the bag in her lap and a Cheese Doodle in each hand. Mia was eating Vernisha’s snacks, and then she said what did you do with the Slim Jim? and Mia just looked at her looking confused. Varnisha picked Mia up from the floor to change her clothes and clean her up and discovered that she was sitting on top of the Slim Jim. Thank god it was nothing that she could have choked on! All I can say, you have to see the outfit, it looked she dipped her clothes in orange cheese sauce. Plus how smart was she facing the other way and sitting on the slim Jim. I guess she figured she could not handle both at once. It is funny but scary at the same time. She is too quick and smart.
